FAQs

FAQs

  • Where will our family stay?

Families have a choice of the use of the rooms in our winterized lodges or staying in cabins. Some of the winterized lodge accommodations have centrally located washrooms (Derbyshire & IAWAH Lodges) while others are ensuite (Bush Lodge & C.W. Leach Complex).
  • What do families need to bring?

Bedding, pillows and towels, books, Bible, notebook, pen, board games, indoor shoes, toiletries, small first aid kit, flashlight. Winter: warm outdoor clothing, extra mitts, skates, hockey sticks and helmets, sleds Summer/Fall: outdoor clothing, lawn chairs and beach toys.
  • Can IAWAH accommodate dietary restrictions?

If you have a dietary restriction or food allergies, be sure to inform the Registrar at the time of registration. IAWAH accommodates the following on a regular basis: vegetarian (please indicate type), vegan, lactose or gluten intolerance, and food allergies.
  • What are you accommodations like?

IAWAH is a very clean and well-maintained camp – but it is a camp. Most rooms have two to three bunk-beds with vinyl-covered, cot-sized, 4-6-inch foam mattresses. Beds marked as doubles are two of these mattresses side-by-side. Cabins—used in the warm seasons only—have washrooms located in another building a short walk away. Washrooms in our winterized lodges are either centrally located (Derbyshire & IAWAH Lodges) or ensuite (Bush Lodge). All washrooms have hot showers, toilets and sinks. Both cabins and lodges have electricity.
  • How can I get more involved?

If you are looking to become a more involved participant in our Family Experiences here are a few available opportunities: Preaching, Worship, Kid’s Ministry and MC’ing. Please contact our Camping Coordinator [email protected] for more details about these roles and for what retreats we may still be in need.
