Seasonal Staff

Spring & Schools Staff

Join our team of 10-16 staff as we work hard with our hands serving guests, preparing the site for summer and creating a culture of seeking Him, servant leadership and mutual respect that we carry on into our summer as leadership staff. 

(Minimum requirement for all staff positions is the completion of grade 11.)

Our Spring Season has two distinct start dates with May consisting mostly of serving rental groups, site maintenance, and summer planning. In June we serve mainly school retreats and day trips.

Certification in First Aid, Bronze Cross, NLS or Challenge Course is greatly desired. Other training will be provided on-site, so don’t worry.

Preference is given to those who have been accepted to Summer Staff as well particularly—-though not limited to-—YDLP and Camp Leadership Staff positions.

Summer Staff

Join our team of approximately 75 for this exciting and bustling time at IAWAH; a season filled with community building, personal faith growth, and endless impact opportunities.

Summer Staff stay busy running engaging activities, epic games, Christ-centred PrimeTime gatherings and quality cabin life. Staff members in camping spend their time with children, youth and families building relationships where life with Christ is an exciting reality.

Supervisory Staff roles include many different forms of leading, training, coaching and mentoring other staff members. Positions include Activity Heads, Kitchen Lead and Don.

YDLP Staff serve as leaders by teaching, coaching and mentoring youth in our multi-week Leadership programs; RISE, CREW, ROOTs, and REACH.

Fall Staff

Join our close-knit team of 4-8 staff in the beautiful autumn season at IAWAH as we create a safe and welcoming space for our guests to more deeply experience God.

Fall staff serve at IAWAH with our valued retreat, conference and high school leadership groups. Staff spend the majority of their time in food service, dining room hosting, housekeeping and facility operations.

Volunteering

At IAWAH, we enjoy working with a large variety of volunteers throughout the seasons and seek those who have a love for serving others.

Some volunteers serve for a week or two while others can commit to a day a week, or one weekend each season. The following is a short list of roles that volunteers often fill:

  • Foodservice
  • Grounds keeping
  • Sewing projects (usually done at home)
  • Woodworking projects (done at home or onsite)
  • Camper transportation
  • Medical staff members
  • New Trip Leader
  • New Campground Host
  • New Jump Start Parent/Leaders
  • Cabin leaders
  • Week-long maintenance staff

Criminal Record Check for Volunteer Work with the Vulnerable Sector
Please submit your Criminal Record Check with your application, prior to your arrival.

Completing Your Check
You may go to your local police station and ask for one to be done. Before you visit the police station, however, make sure you have the proper identification and paperwork ready.

There is an administrative fee for this service. However, often the administrative fee is waived when requested on behalf of a non-profit organization and if you are volunteering. If they require you to pay, we will cover the costs that you may incur from acquiring this. To be reimbursed, please send a copy of your receipt along with a copy of your criminal record check for work with the vulnerable sector. If they are going to waive the fee they may ask for a letter from the employer with the registered charitable organization number, if you require a letter please let us know and we can provide one for you.
