Please note that due to the Ontario stay at home order, IAWAH is currently closed to the public.
We were hopeful that we would be able to run IAWAH’s Overnight Summer Camps in 2021, yet unfortunately, these valuable programs will have to be put on hold. At this stage, we have decided to cancel Open House, Canada Day Family Retreat and Summer Camps (including JumpStart, Adventure Camps, Junior & Senior Camps).
The plan is to run the Youth Development Leadership Programs including RISE, CREW and ROOTs and our Explorer canoe trip, pending final approval from Provincial and local health authorities. These multi-week programs will function in separate cohorts, under approved safety protocols being developed in a partnership between the Ontario Camps Association & health authorities.
We don’t want you to miss out on an IAWAH experience this summer. Consider booking a Cabin, Tabin or Canvas Tent in the IAWAH Campground – and enjoy Wolfe Lake as a family. Learn more and book your spot soon.
Below you’ll find responses to several Frequently Asked Questions. As you know, circumstances continue to evolve, and we will do our best to provide you with new information as it becomes available.
Summer Camps & YDLP
Why was the decision made to cancel Summer camps?
Together, with our Board of Directors, we decided not to move ahead with our full summer programming amidst this climate of uncertainty. Officially, overnight Summer Camps have been closed in Ontario since May 2020. To this date, the Province has not provided the green light for overnight camps to re-open. We believed it was in the best interest of the entire community to provide clarity at this time and open up more spaces for guests to safely enjoy IAWAH as a family.
Can I transfer my summer camp fees to Summer 2022?
We would love for your camper to join us next summer at IAWAH. The process for this includes receiving a refund of your paid fees – and the opportunity for an immediate re-registration for a 2022 summer session. Registration for summer 2022 will open by August 1st.
When will refunds be provided?
Registered guests will receive an email in June with further information, instructions and options. Families will be given the option to request a refund, donate their fees to IAWAH, or a combination. Refunds will be processed during the summer months. If this poses a financial hardship for you, please contact the camp office.
What about my existing payment plan?
Overnight Summer Camp payment plans have been suspended. While YDLP (RISE, CREW & ROOTs) payment plans will continue as scheduled. All Summer Camp registered guests will receive an email in June with further information, complete with a form for you to indicate your direction for previously paid fees.
